Farm interview with whom proved the effect of Sol to Bio on PRRS & PMWS (Livestock Newspapre)

Visiting an environment friendly livestock farm, Jeonginyukjong, Hongseong, Chungnam province Sol to Bio helps to grow livestock well without the use of antibiotics, thus reducing production costs.

Sol-to-Bio makes possible the raising of pigs without using any antibiotics. Its efficacy was verified through joint research conducted by a team led by Professor Lee Bong‐Joo. It prevents diseases such as PMWS and PRRS. It also reduces the bad odor of feces, giving less reason for neighbors to complain.

“Is there any method to prevent disease and enhance productivity without using antibiotics?” Livestock farming without using antibiotics is the dream or goal of all livestock farms. However, the temptation to use antibiotics is too big to get rid of.

Jeonginyukjong Livestock Farm, located in Hongseong, Chungnam (Mr. Ham Seong‐Gu as president), has become confident of raising livestock without using antibiotics since coming across the antibiotic substitute “Sol‐to‐Bio,” produced by Seobong Biobestech.

This farm is currently raising 7,500 pigs, including 700 parent pigs. Manager Ham Gi‐Hak, a son of President Ham Seong‐Gu said, “I am very satisfied with Sol‐to‐Bio as it is not only a natural product but also can replace antibiotics”. He continues to say, “After using Sol‐to‐Bio, I found out our livestock experienced a significant decrease in diseases such as PMWS and PRRS.”

Sol to Bio has gone through 2 tests for verification of its effect against PRRS and PMWS. The tests were conducted by Professor Lee Bong-Joo veterinary college in Junnam National University and sponsored by the Agricultural R&D Promotion Center.

The test results showed that the control group composed of pigs artificially infected with PMWS and PRRS viruses was detected to have more than one million viruses, while the experimental group to which Sol‐to‐Bio was given was found to have less than ten thousand viruses, or only 1% viruses were detected.

The experiment above was conducted on pigs to which the product was given for 26 days. Professor Lee Bong‐Joo said that if the product is administered to the pigs for a longer period of time, diseases such as PMWS and PRRS would be completely eradicated.
Hearing the efficacy of the product against the disease, Manager Ham said that he could understand why there was no disease. He is now convinced of the efficacy of Sol‐to‐Bio and is grateful for having used the product on his farm.

He also said, “When there is a big temperature difference between day and night, many cases of respiratory diseases also emerge. He continued to add, “When we saw that there was a significant reduction in the death of pigs, it looks like the product does make pigs strong.”

Another advantage obtained from using Sol to Bio is the reduction in bad odour. The farm had been worrying about the annoying bad smell from the pigpens. But the use of the products significantly reduced the bad smell. The reduction of bad odor makes the work easier, and naturally the complaints due to bad smell have greatly lessened.

“The president has a philosophy that the farm should be clean. As you know, this farm is surrounded by flowers. Sol‐to‐Bio is a significant factor that contributes to keeping the farm clean.”
Sol to Bio also contributes to the saving of expenses. Of course, farmers may be afraid of additional expenses. However, as time goes by, farmers are drawn in to the attractiveness of the product. It reduces the vaccination requirement from 2 to 1, saving a lot of medicine expenses. If we consider the prevention of diseases and the reduction of death rate caused by PMWS and PRRS, the product gives us a lot of cost saving effects.

The performance by Jeonginyukjong is in the top level at all times. Its MSY (maximum sustainable yield) is 25. When asked about the secret of having such an accomplishment, Manager Ham said that he feeds the pigs with good feeds, keeps the pig pens clean at all times and conducts vaccination and sterilization around the pens, thus preventing the occurrence of diseases. Those are the first things to do to achieve good performance. He also said, “Like people get healthy when they get good food, good and healthy pigs are also produced when they are fed with good natural bio materials such as Sol‐to‐Bio.”
