Donation to North Korea

Seobong BioBestech Co., Ltd. decided to provide 10 tons of its antibiotics replacement products " Biotite V ", which has been being exported to EU and Japan, to North Korea free of charge. The amount of products was delivered to Korea Chicken Council on Apr 14.
Biotite V acquired patent as "Animals feed stuffs for antibiotics replacement" in Korea and PCT pending in 23 countries. The product is being exported to Spain and Japan. Supply contract with a Chinese company is in its final stage. Moreover, as a antibiotics replacement, it has been provided to major feed companies and some ten thousand animal farms in Korea.
Recently, the concerns about organic livestock management have risen through the environment-friendly livestock, well-being trend, establishment of meat tracking system, etc. The interests in Biotite V are hiking up together with such changes around livestock industry.
Besides the aid to North Korea, Seobong BioBestech Co., Ltd. has helped animal farms suffering from foot and mouth disease with 200 tons of free Biotite V products in the year 2002 in support of their production cost reduction.
A person from Seobong BioBestech Co. said “We heard North Korea asked Korea Chicken Council (KCC) for veterinary medicine and decided to participate in this aid program voluntarily with free Biotite V products, ” and added “We wish the products to be used meaningfully together with the veterinary medicine from veterinary pharmaceutical companies."
In the meantime, Korea Animal Health Products Association (KAHPA), which is asked from KCC for free supply of pharmaceutical products for chickens to North Korea through Kwang-myung Co. in North Korea, has received donations (16 different kinds of products including antibiotics, nutritional products, and so on) from 15 member companies which worth around 30 million won.
KCC is planning to supply the donated pharmaceutical products for chickens and Biotite V from KAHPA to North Korea as soon as it acquire permission from Ministry of Unification.
