Large quantities of antibiotics were detected in the cattle and pigs from some livestock farms located in Gyunggi province, so they are being destroyed.
Gyunggi Livestock Sanitary Research Institute reported that 2.88ppm of an antibiotic Oxytetracycline was detected which is over 28 times than allowed standard 0.1ppm in the cattle from a Mr. Kim’s farm in Icheon city.
Also, in a Mr. Lee’s farm in Yongin city, 0.15ppm Chlortetracycline was detected that is over 15 times than allowed. Too much antibiotics were detected in the cattle and pigs from total 13 farms, then they are under special inspection.
