Seobong BioBestech develops new feed additive and environment friendly products
We have developed a natural antibiotic substitute called “Biotite V” and an environmental friendly pet feed called “Sol–to-Pet” to produce drugs that are safe for human beings and to solve the problem of growing resistance to antibiotics. On top of that, we are now developing new products by using natural bio materials which have been developed by us.
We have conducted an oral taking method using the natural bio materials developed by us at a testing entity recognized by the KFDA (Korea Food & Drug Administration) to find out whether it has any anti‐cancer efficacy. As a result, we have found that it is very effective in curing liver cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer. So, it is at the final stage in the patent application process and is now undergoing clinical experiments.
Development of “Biotite V”, or substitute for antibiotics
Seobong Biobestech was designated as a small and medium‐sized venture company by MIAF (Ministry of Agriculture and Forest) and started research and development. Subsidized by MIAF from August 2001 to August 2004 and conducting joint technology research with the team led by Professor Kim In‐Ho, Bio Resource & Science Department, Dankook University and Livestock Research Center under MIAF, it succeeded in developing “Biotite V”, a substitute for antibiotics.
The research results were released through 3 papers on “evaluation of substitute for antibiotics” at the world best international animal forum “ADSA ASAS Joint Meeting”. In addition, its efficacy and safety have been verified through world best laboratories throughout the world, including the National Feed Processing Technology Center at the China Agricultural University, Japan’s medical clinic center, commercial farm in Spain and commercial farm in the Philippines.
Growing into the Korea’s best antibiotic substitute and bio feed additive, “Biotite V” is a natural mineral material which replaces the products which have been imported from overseas up to now. Applications for patents in 24 countries overseas including China (July 2005), USA (October 2005) are being filed. It has already received a domestic patent: Patent No. 0343367.
“As “Biotite V” is a substitute for antibiotics and is made with natural living materials, it makes possible the production of high quality livestock products without using any antibiotics. On top of that, it helps to reduce the cause of soil and water contamination by 82%. Also, it is an environment friendly product as it reduces the emission of ammonia gas by 64%. It also prevents salmonella infections and reinforces the immune system of animals, thus reducing the need for antibiotics and other products.
“Biotite V”: Successful debut in the overseas market
Overseas
In August 2003, a famous Spanish animal drug company conducted a successful experiment to verify the efficacy of “Biotite V”, a substitute for antibiotics. In November, 2003, we exported 20 tons of the products for the first time after the experiment conducted by an animal drug company in Spain described previously. As subsequent experiments also showed the good efficacy and effect of the product, the exporting volume increased to 20 tons in October 2004.
After several Japanese veterinarians recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries conducted experiments and tests on “Biotite V” in 2003, the product received the license to sell it in the Japanese market. After reaching an agreement with a partner, we are now supplying the product to Japanese consumers.
In case of China, China’s Ministry of Agriculture completed tests on the products over a period of two years, and then allowed “Biotite V” to be registered as a new feed and new substitute for antibiotics. At the same time, China Agricultural University conducted a test on the product and released a report approving that the product can completely replace antibiotics. As of September 2004, the company is looking forward to exporting a lot of products to China through Chinese partners.
Korea
We have made agreements with 15,000 farms, agricultural cooperatives, feed plants nationwide, and supplied a volume of as much as 4,000 to 5,000 ton to them within 2 years.
Entrance into the pet feed market
In addition to the “Biotite V” business which solidified its base in the domestic and overseas market, Seobong Biobestech Co., Ltd started the marketing of a new concept environment friendly pet feed with the brand name of “Sol‐to‐Pet” in the domestic pet feed market, which has been showing great growth as of late in May 2004 to continue the growth of the company.
“Sol-to-Pet” has been rigorously tested by a research team led by Professor Kim In‐Ho of Dankook University. Containing the natural bio material developed by Seobong Biobestech Co., Ltd, this product not only improves the health of pet dogs and greatly reduces the bad odor caused by pet feces, which had been the big problem for feeds, but also strengthens the immune system of pets, thus keeping them healthy. As the multifunctional environment friendly pet feed, this product gets much positive attention from customers as soon as it started to market.

Currently, we have committed to develop bio engineering products, starting with “Biotite V”, “Sol‐to‐Pet” and “New drug”. We will continue to go forward to become the world best bio engineering company.
